I am sure that Facebook will endure until well beyond our being twinned with the Planet Tush.Facebook employees will, as the years go by, leave the company to enter politics more frequently. They will be elected with landslide majorities and they will be extremely popular as they will anticipate people's needs far quicker than the conventional gray-haired folks who buy ill-fitting clothes at expensive retailers and currently sit in the Senate.Zuckerberg: I know that people don't want privacy | Technically Incorrect - CNET News

Maybe it's too early in the morning but I can't really tell what he's saying. He seems to be suggesting that Facebooks Zuckerberg is incorrect in suggesting that there has been a shift from a love of privacy to a desire to share everything - but then he leaves that theme entirely by the end of his blog. What I've observed is there are many older people who completely avoid social network sites and part of that reason is likely they have no desire to share their lives on line. But I'm continually amazed at the willingness of youth to cough up any detail -sometimes very private kinds of information - without a care in the world. I have several times had my mouth drop open at something posted and think "you know your mom and dad can read that right???". |
